Thoughts on the Boston Marathon Bombing

By Sam Huddleston

April 15, 2013 was supposed to be a normal day in our lives. The sun was shining, and it was poised to be a great day in Boston, especially because the Boston Marathon was taking place that day. People were lined up all along the streets watching their friends or family cross the finish. At 2:50 PM, two explosions occurred near the finish line of the race. Hundreds of people were maimed or hurt and three people died. What started as a nice Monday day turned into chaos in seconds.

The two bombers were Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. They were born in Russia but immigrated over to the United States in 2011. With this bombing, they caused much sorrow and sadness with many people, as more than 20,000 people were running the race. Many families did not know whether their loved ones or their families were safe or in danger. For all they know their best friend or their husband or their wife was dead.

So let us remember those victims now and never forget about the tragedy that occurred on that seemingly normal Monday afternoon.
