Pet of the Week- Jane!

Pretty little Jane is the result of having unaltered rabbits in the same home. Her owners brought her to Animal Friends because they could no longer take care of the number of rabbits they had. We’re happy to have Jane though. We helped her sister, Charlotte; find her forever home a few weeks ago and now we’re anxious for Jane to find hers!

At about 6 pounds, she’s a petite little lady, but she’s only a year old so she may continue to grow. Jane uses a litter box ever so well, loves to snack on hay and appreciates gentle petting. Don’t tell her we told you, but she’s afraid of the vacuum cleaner!

Jane lived with a big family for several months, and would be happy to do so again, provided no one pulls her ears or tail!

Come to Animal Friends to meet her!

Animal Friends is open Monday — Friday 11am — 7pm and Saturday & Sunday 10 am — 5pm at 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or call 412.847.7002

Football Week 3

By Mike Ravas, 2014

This week the 1-1 OLSH Chargers football team traveled to visit the 1-1 Laurel Spartans. They came out swinging but feel short as the Spartans pulled away to win 24-13. This dropped the Chargers to a 1-2 record and now have a long hill to climb if they want to make the playoffs for the first time. Sto-Rox is the opponent the Chargers will face next week who have a 2-1 record.

On Monday, the boys JV players took the field at Youthtowne and played the JV Spartan players. The boys also fell short to the Spartans with a score of 22-6. Considering it was the first full game for many of the JV players Coach Daniels was quite happy with the outcome but wants to see improvement on both JV and varsity players if they want to give Sto-Rox a run for their money.
